December 23, 2021: As many as 65 Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) cadres laid down their arms today in Karbi Anglong. ADGP Assam Police Hiren Nath and Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang were present at the arms laying down event.



In November this year, 46 DNLA cadres had come overground.

The ‘chairman’ of the outfit, Edika Diphusa alias Kharmindao Dimasa, his deputy Juddychan Haflongbar alias America Dimasa and ‘general secretary’ Prithamjit Jidongsa alias Galao Dimasa came to the fore on September 24 to hold peace talks with the government.



The group is mostly active in Dima Hasao district. It had declared a unilateral ceasefire for three months on September 7 as a “goodwill gesture and as a positive response to the call for peace” by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
