May 22, 2020: With three new cases of COVID-19 in Assam, the total number of coronavirus cases reached 259 on Friday.

Reportedly, all positive patients are from Sarusajai Quarantine Centre, Guwahati.

"Alert - Three more #COVID19 cases detected, one each from Nagaon, Sivasagar and Tinsukia" said state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Twitter.

"Total cases 259, Recovered 54, Active cases 198, Deaths 04, Migrated 03", he added.

Out of the 259 cases, 54 patients have been discharged while 198 patients are currently active cases.

The number of deaths due to the coronavirus are four and three patients have migrated from the state.
