October 31, 2020: The number of Covid-19 cases in Assam are gradually decreasing. Informing this, Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma said that the state is now placed second in the list of total recovered patients.

Thanking the people of Assam, he said that their responsible behaviour during the Durga Puja has saved the situation from aggravating.

Dr. Sharma said that till end of September, the state had 36,000 active cases which has come down to 10,000 on Saturday. The state's positivity rate has remained static below 2%.
