September 11, 2020: The Centre on Thursday has released over Rs. 631 crore to Assam under the 15th Finance Commission.

The Finance Ministry released Rs 631.58 crore to Assam as sixth equated monthly instalment of Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant as recommended by 15th Finance Commission.

A fund of total Rs 6,195.08 crore was released to 14 states. The ministry said this would provide them additional resources during Corona crisis.

Sikkim has also been granted Rs. 37 crore by the ministry.
