June 9, 2020: Assam reported 33 new COVID-19 positive cases on Tuesday, taking total number of coronavirus cases to 2868.

Reportedly, out of the 33 new cases, 17 are from Tinsukia, 4 from Jorhat, 3 from Barpeta, 2 from Chirang, 2 from Karbi Anglong, 2 from Nagaon, 1 from Baksa, 1 from Golaghat, and 1 from Majuli.

State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "Alert ~ 33 new #COVID19 cases reported. 17 Tinsukia, 4 Jorhat, 3 Barpeta, 2 Chirang, 2 Karbi Anglong, 2 Nagaon, 1 Baksa, 1 Golaghat, 1 Majuli. Total cases 2868, recovered 784, active cases 2076, deaths 05".
