October 1, 2021: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with many other ministers extended greetings to Assam Police on the Occasion of 71st Assam Police Day.





The Assam Police Day is observed in remembrance of IPS KR Choudhary, who took over as Assam Police Chief on October 1 in 1951.





The celebration took place at 4th APBN in Kahilipara, Guwahati today in the presence of Governor of Assam, Jagdish Mukhi and Assam Police DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta.



Assam Police has also organized a blood donation camp at Nagaon Police Hospital and urges everyone to join the camp.

Taking to Twitter, Assam CM said, “জনহিতজনসেৱাৰ্থে - the maxim of brave men and women who protect the life & property of more than 3 crore Assamese people.



On 71st #AssamPoliceDay, I salute these brave hearts who are ever ready to serve for the safety and security of our people.”



He also said, “Donating blood is akin to donating life. The selfless act by voluntary blood donors greatly benefitted our society, especially during #COVID.



On National Voluntary Blood Donors Day, I urge everyone to come forward and donate blood for the sake of humanity.”







On the other hand, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said, “Greetings to the @assampolice family on #AssamPoliceDay. Steeped in history and demonstrating exemplary service to the society, my salutations to the braveheart men and women of this great unit.”
