July 27, 2022: Utpal Bora, the police officer-in charge of Kharupetia Police Station, Assam has been detained by Dhula Police on Wednesday for allegedly extorting money from a doctor and a teacher by registering fake cases against them.
He allegedly demanded around Rs 5 Lakhs from both of them.
The officer harassed the duo alleging theft of pipe of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme.
Currently, he has been kept in Mangaldoi Police Station.
