August 29, 2022: The death toll from monsoon flooding in Pakistan since June has reached 1,136, according to figures released Monday by the country's National Disaster Management Authority which said 75 people had died in the previous 24 hours, news agency AFP reported today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "Saddened to see the devastation caused by the floods in Pakistan. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the injured and all those affected by this natural calamity and hope for an early restoration of normalcy".
Pakistan is reeling under one of the worst floods in recent times.
