Akash, 29, who worked as a Rapido rider during the night, was reportedly out for drinks with his friends at the IMFL Wine Shop, located near the Kahilipara Power House. What was intended to be a casual evening out soon escalated into a deadly brawl.
According to police reports, Akash, along with his four friends — Bonjit Rajbongshi, Ziarul Ali, Devobrat Mallik, and Tarun Buragohain — were drinking inside the wine shop. After exiting the shop, an argument broke out, leading to a physical altercation between Akash and Bonjit. Witnesses say the fight quickly escalated, with Bonjit allegedly pushing Akash into the street. In a tragic turn, as Akash stumbled into the road, he was struck by a speeding vehicle.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Hayat Hospital by Ziarul Ali in an auto. However, despite efforts to save him, Akash was declared dead upon arrival.
