November 21, 2020: The Crime branch of Assam Police on Saturday evening recovered huge quantity of drugs from a bust at Sonapur toll plaza.
"Today on the basis of input regarding trafficking of suspected narcotic substances, an operation was carried out by a team of Crime Branch, Guwahati along with staff of Sonapur PS and one Bus bearing registration number AS 01 LC 5778 coming from Lakhimpur to Guwahati was intercepted at Sonapur toll gate. Thereafter, searched the luggage belonging to one person namely Debasish Baruah @ DJ Brahmin ,S/O Late Gunindra Baruah of Bhetapara and recovered the following: 1) *Charas, weighing 445 gm, in 28 packets
2) Cocaine 43 gm, in 2 packets, and
3) Ecstasy drug Skype tablets weighing 25 gm.
The drugs were kept concealed in a black color music speaker, " the Crime Branch in a statement said.
