Aug 7, 2020: After 5 months, the bars have opened in Guwahati from Friday. The Kamrup Metro district administration vide an order on Thursday had allowed bars with licenses to serve liquor.
The administration however has set guidelines for the bars and dine and wine restaurants. Due to the night curfew, the bars can be opened from 10 am to 5 pm. Besides, they will also have to maintain social distancing and other precautionary norms specified by the health department.
The bars have remained shut since mid-March due to the Covid 19 outbreak.
