October 4, 2023: Indian Boxer Lovlina Borgohain won the silver medal in the finals of Women's 75 Kg boxing event at the ongoing Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China on Wednesday. Lovlina lost to lost to Chinese Boxer Li Qian in the finals.
The Sports Authority of India informed that Lovlina has also booked her spot in the boxing event for the next Olympics after this qualification. The next Olympics will be held in Paris.
As per sources, this is the first silver medal for an Indian woman at the Asian Games boxing event.
