November 30, 2020: The meritorious girl students of 2018-19 and 2019-20 batches will get scooty as promised in the budget.
Finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma said that in the first batch, 22,000 girl students who had secured 1st division in higher secondary examination 2020-21 will be given scooty in December.
The government will bear the costs of insurance, registration and GST of these scooty.
He also announced that the 5,000 girl students of 2018-19 batch and 5,000 of 2019-20 batch will also get scooty as promised in his annual budget. By February next, these scooty will be distributed among these students.
