July 31, 2020: US President Donald Trump suggests delaying the US Presidential polls scheduled for November next amidst increasing number of Covid 19 cases in the country.



Trump took to Twitter on Thursday morning and called for the 2020 Presidential Polls to be delayed due to mail-in voting.



"I don't want a delay, I want to have the election. But I also don't want to have wait for three months and then find out that the ballots were all missing and the election doesn't mean anything," Trump tweeted.

"We can never ever forget the people whom we have lost. We will never forget what happened. This could have been stopped in China, they should have stopped it and they didn't." he said.



However, the Republicans have rejected Trump's suggestion. They say that as per the US Constitution. only the Congress has the power to fix the date for voting.
