November 28, 2020: Actress Kriti Sanon has been finalised to play the role of Sita in the epic movie 'Adipurush' starring Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan.

After considering Anushka Sharma and Kiara Advani, the makers have finally zeroed in on Kriti. She will essay the role of Sita. Prabhas is set to play the lord Rama and Saif Ali Khan has been roped in as Raavana.

Kriti debuted in the film world opposite Mahesh Babu in Sukumar’s ‘1 Nenokkadine’. As the film flopped at the box-office, she shifted her base to Mumbai and continued playing lead roles in Hindi movies. She is currently one of the top league of actresses in Bollywood.

Based on the Epic Ramayana, the film is all set to release on August 11, 2022, for the Independence Day weekend.

The film's director and one of the producers Om Raut is planning to deliver a 3D form of Ramayana with these big names. The film is being bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar of Tseries, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles while Karthik Palani will be cranking the camera for the film. Adipurush will be releasing in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
