August 3, 2020: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday said that considering the demography of the State, Government is exploring all options to recruit more people in Assam Police so that lives and properties of the people of Assam can be safeguarded on a priority basis.

The Chief Minister said that Assam Police has earned a distinct position in policing in the entire country by virtue of its devotion, dedication, discipline and dutifulness.

He therefore congratulated every personnel in Assam Police and urged them to continue their relentless endeavour for the safety and security of every residence in the State.

Inaugurating the newly constructed building of Nalbari Police Station under MOITRI Scheme at Nalbari on Sunday, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also praised the Assam Police personnel who are working as frontline warriors despite many of them tested COVID positive.

He hailed the recovered Assam Police personnel for donating Plasma, which immensely helped the state in treating the COVID positive patients. Congratulating the Assam Police personnel of Nalbari district on getting a new police station building under MOTRI scheme, Chief Minister Sonowal urged them to become more responsive towards dealing with the people who come to police station during any problem. He also asked them to become more friendly so that people do not become hesitant in coming to the police station.
