August 3, 2020: Assam's Covid-19 death toll touched 105 as the total cases crossed 42,000 mark on Sunday.

On Sunday, 4 more deaths were recorded in the state. Mridula Ghosh (54) of Karimganj, Tilak Chandra Das (50) of Kamrup Metro, Santa Sarkar (62) of Tinsukia and Samir Phukan (52) of Jorhat succumbed to Covid-19.

Meanwhile, the state recorded a total 42,904 cases as on Sunday. Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma tweeted that 1178 new Covid-19 cases were detected in last 24 hours. Of this, 268 are from Kamrup(M).

A total of 19,943 tests were conducted in last 24 hours. However, good news is that the positivity rate has remained consistently low.

Altogether 32,384 patients were discharged till Sunday and now there are 10,412 active patients.
