"We can safeguarding our health by observing, "Do Gaj ki Doori, Mask Zaroori", following social distancing norms and ensuring to wear masks will help us defeat coronavirus. I urge you to follow these guidelines and I pray for your good health. Stay healthy and stay happy," said the Prime Minister during his monthly "Mann ki Baat" radio programme.





The Prime Minister also said that amid the coronavirus crisis, teachers not only have accepted this challenge but also turned it into an opportunity as they adapted to new technology and methods in education. "My dear countrymen, in a few days from now on September 5, we will celebrate Teachers Day. Whenever we think of successes we have had during the course of our lifetime, we are almost always reminded of one teacher or the other. The fast-changing times coupled with the Corona crisis are posing new challenges for our teachers. I am happy that not only have our teachers accepted this challenge but also turned it into an opportunity," said the Prime Minister during his monthly "Mann ki Baat" radio programme.





He further said it is essential that the youth of India is aware of the freedom struggle, the leaders of our nation and feels about them. While addressing the monthly Mann Ki Baat programme, PM Modi said, "It is very important that our today's generation, our students know about the freedom struggle, the leaders of our nation and feel about them...from their districts and region, what happened during the freedom struggle, how it happened, who attained martyrdom, who remained imprisoned for how long for the nation."





While recalling the bravery of various dogs serving the security forces, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged the countrymen to bring one of the Indian breed dog's home, if they are planning to adopt a canine. "When we were celebrating Independence Day, very interesting news drew my attention about two daredevil characters of our security forces--One is Sophie and Second is Vida --both pride canines under the Indian Army. They have been conferred with the Chief of Army Staff commendation card. They were honoured for discharging their duties while defending the nation. There are many such brave dogs with our armed forces who for the country and made supreme sacrifice for our nation," the Prime Minister said during his monthly "Mann ki Baat" radio programme.
