February 3, 2020: A firing took place outside the Jamia Millia Islamia University in south Delhi on Sunday night. This is the third firing incident in four days at an anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protest in the capital.

As per reports, the Jamia Coordination Committee (JCC), a group comprising students and alumni of the university formed to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act, said two miscreants came on a red scooter out of which one wearing a red jacket opened fire outside Gate No. 5. After firing, the scooter sped off immediately.

The police said that some students told them that a shot was fired at the university gate, 2 km from Shaheen Bagh, where protesters have set up a tent on the road and dug in for nearly two months in protest against the CAA.

However, no one was injured in the attack.
