September 5, 2020: In a daring robbery, Rs.1.15 crore were looted from in front of a State Bank of India branch in Manipur's Churachandpur district.



The incident happened when the money was brought to deposit in the bank's ATM by the Cash Replenishment agency. The agents of the agency had replenished the ATM machines located on the ground floor of SBI Churachandpur with Rs 55 lakh out of Rs 1.70 cr they had and they were about to move out to replenish cash at ATM booths across the town. As they were proceeding towards their armoured car, the robbers shot at the security guard cum driver twice and fled with the cash.





The miscreants used silencer to fire at the guard for which no one heard the gun shots. The guard suffered two bullet injuries and later succumbed to injuries.
