Four coaches of a stationary passenger train gutted in fire in Bihar

A stationary train was gutted in a fire in Mokama, about 100 kilometres from Patna, Bihar at around 3:00 am early morning today.

Four coaches of Danapur-Mokama MEMU train had caught fire out of the total 16 coaches as 12 coaches have been immediately separated by the Railway officials.

However, no casualties or injuries were reported.

Station staff, along with Railway Police Force (RPF) and GRP personnel, made efforts to keep the fire under control until fire brigade arrived from Barh, about 30 km away, and the flames were extinguished by 3.30 am, said the Chief Public Relations Officer of the East Central Railway (ECR) Rajesh Kumar.

The Passenger train reached Mokama on Tuesday night at 11 pm. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
