July 17, 2017: Amid the ensuing month-old standoff in the Doklam plateau between the Indian and Chinese People's Liberation Army the reports of China's military conducting army drills along the Indian border in Arunachal Pradesh has been creating sensation.

Reportedly, Chinese army had held “live-fire drills” near the Indian border in Arunachal, to practice quick movement of troops and destroy enemy aircraft. The brigade that conducted the drills was from the PLA's Tibet Military Command and is one of China's two plateau mountain brigades.
The video was being released by state-run China Central Television (CCTV) on Friday which stated that quick delivery of troops and different military units coming together for joint attacks was practiced, which also involved use of anti-tank grenades and missiles. The video showed the troops using anti-tank grenades and missiles against bunkers and howitzers for artillery coverage. The video also showed radar units identifying enemy aircraft and soldiers using anti-aircraft artillery to destroy targets. The drills lasted 11 hours.
The drill was held in the Tibet Autonomous Region in the middle and lower reaches of Yarlung Zangbo River, which “is located in the upper stream of the Brahmaputra River which flows through China, India and Bangladesh”.
