August 2, 2020: A youth of Pandu area of Guwahati is feared drowned in Brahmaputra flood water after he went missing on Sunday.

The youth, identified as Raju Sikdar went to the riverside along with his friends. According to his friends, Raju was mentally depressed and he had called them for a liquor party. Then he suddenly jumped into the Brahmaputra. By the time they could raised an alarm, Raju was swept away by the strong currents of the river.

Soon after the incident, river police and SDRF started a rescue operation. But till Sunday evening, there was no trace of him.
