July 11, 2020: In a joint operation carried out by Bokakhat and Kohora Police, two poachers were arrested at Haldhibari, Kaziranga on Friday night.

Reportedly, the two poachers were identified as Chinjason Belt, a resident of Manipur and Simon Lakra, a resident of Samaguri. Police also seized one 303 rifle, one magazine and ten live cartridges which were buried in a Teak Forest.

As per reports, Chinjason was involved in killing of almost 20 rhinos in Kaziranga with the help of another poacher and was running a rhino horn smuggling racket in Manipur.

 Meanwhile, the police are interrogating the poachers for further information.
