July 31, 2020: Meghalaya will get an AYUSH directorate. The Centre has accepted the Meghalaya government's proposal for setting up an AYUSH directorate in the state.

In a video conference held between Union AYUSH minister Shripad Naik and Meghalaya Health minister A L Hek on Thursday, it was decided to set up a directorate in the state.

The AYUSH ministry also agreed in principle to sanction 13 AYUSH health and wellness centres for Meghalaya proposed during 2019-20.

The ministry has already decided to set up over 12,500 AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres across the country.
