As per Government's earlier order, the suspension was scheduled to end on Friday. The overseas flights have remained suspended since March due to Corona Virus. However, Cargo operation will continue uninterrupted.



The Directorate General of Civil Aviation in a statement said the government has decided to "extend the suspension on the Scheduled International Commercial Passenger Services to/from India up to 2359 hours IST of 31st August".



Air India and Air India Express have carried 2,67,436 stranded passengers while charter flights have carried 4,86,811 stranded passengers from May 6 till July 30.
