July 11, 2020: India has crossed the eight lakh-mark in novel coronavirus cases, with the 27,114 new cases reported in last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the country to 8,20,916.

As per reports, India recorded 2,83,407 active cases while 5,15,386 have recovered so far. The death toll rose to 2,2123.

Maharashtra has reported the highest number of cases, followed by Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi and Telangana.

Maharashtra registered a record single-day jump of 7,862 new cases taking the state's tally to 238,461 and 95,647 active cases.

Delhi recorded 2,089 novel coronavirus cases on Friday, taking its COVID-19 tally to over 1.09 lakh.

India is the third worst-hit nation, behind only the United States and Brazil.
