August 2, 2020: Additional Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar took charge of the Manipur Chief Secretary on Saturday.

After retirement of Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu, Dr Kumar was given the additional charge of the Chief Secretary on Friday.

The retirement of the chief secretary has evoked reactions among the local organisations. Many outfits have demanded that a native eligible IAS officer should be appointed as the next chief secretary.
