Guwahati/New Delhi: Violence in Assam took a more dangerous and rndisturbing turn after it came to light that deadly AK-47 rifles were rnused in the latest attack that left three people dead. rn rnA shocked state government has ordered the seizure of arms in the Bodo belt of Assam. rn rn“Assam is just like a volcano. You don’t know where what happens. rnClashes keep occurring in the state whether in Kokrajhar, Karbi Anglong rnor Dima Hasao,” said Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. rn rn rn"We have taken steps to maintain peaces...These kinds of things have rnbeing happening since long and sometimes there are such clashes. But we rnare taking steps to contain such violence," he said. rn rn"Both external and internal forces are at work," Gogoi said without elaborating. rn rnMeanwhile, a special CBI team will reach the state tomorrow to probe violence in the state that has claimed 73 lives so far. rn rnIndefinite curfew has been reimposed in Kokrajhar, while round-the-clock curfew continues in Chirang. rn rnArmy continued flag marches in the morning in Kokrajhar, Chirang and Dhubri districts. rn rnIn Delhi, the BJP is set to raise the issue in Parliament on the first day of Monsoon Session today. rn |
