July 20, 2020: A range forest officer locked himself in a cage and entered a 100-ft dry well to check whether a leopard has fallen in HD Kote, Myusuru on Saturday. However, the big cat was not there.



Antharasanthe RFO Siddaraju is the daredevil officer who entered the deep dry well in Karapura village to rescue the big cat.



Taking to Twitter IFS Parveen Kaswan shared the images of rescue operation and wrote, “He is Siddarju, RFO from Nagarhole. He entered 100ft dry well to rescue a leopard. By locking himself in a metal cage with a torch and his mobile phone in hand, entered a dry well to rescue a leopard. This is what commitment looks like. Proud of such green soldiers.”





A metal cage was brought to the spot by the forest staff and RFO Siddaraju got inside with a torch and a mobile phone.



According to sources, the villagers have complaints to the aurthorities stating that a leopard had fallen into the well and they have seen it.
