July 07, 2020: One soldier was martyred and two security forces personnel were injured in a gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday morning. The police said one of the two militants was also shot dead. 

A joint security operation by the Central Reserve Police Force's (CRPF) 183 Battalion, army's Rashtriya Rifles unit and Jammu and Kashmir Police began at around 5:30 am based on an input in Goosu village of the district.

Reportedly, the search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists opened firing towards security forces positions.

The encounter is still under way.
