July 09, 2020: Most-Wanted History-Sheeter Vikas Dubey, who has been on the run since last week after the killing of 8 police personnel in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, has finally been arrested.

Early reports that are coming in say Vikas Dubey has been arrested from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. 

Reportedly, Dubey - the main accused of Kanpur amubush - was going to Ujjain Mahakal temple when he was identified by security personnel. Police were informed following which he confessed his identity after being pushed for it. He was then apprehended by police & interrogation is currently underway.

It may be added that Dubey’s men attacked a team of police officials last Thursday as they came to the village to arrest the gangster in connection with a complaint against him.

Whereas, following the attack the police have till now gunned down two more close aides of Dubey - Prabhat Mishra and Praveen Dubey.  They were among the 15 men who attacked the team of policemen on the intervening night of July 2 and 3. Both Dubey and Mishra carried a cash reward of Rs 50,000 each.

On the other hand, another accomplice Amar Dubey was killed by the UP police during a gunfight in Hamirpur.
