April 11, 2020: Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government on Saturday announced extension of lockdown in the state as positive coronavirus cases cross 1,500-mark.



The decision comes soon after PM Modi held an all-CM video conferencing meet to decide the further course of action to contain the spread of COVID19.



Maharashtra will continue to be locked down till 30th April. The state will show the way to the country even in these tough times, Maharashtra CM said.



Meanwhile, the death toll due to the novel Coronavirus rose to 239 and the number of cases to 7,477 in the country on Saturday. The number of active COVID-19 cases is 6,565, as many as 643 people were cured and discharged.



It may be mentioned that Odisha and Punjab had declared an extension of the lockdown on Friday itself.
