August 6, 2020: Another BJP affiliated Sarpanch, Sajad Ahmad Khanday, was shot by suspected militants outside his residence at Vessuin south Kashmir’s Qazigund on Thursday morning.

August 6, 2020: Another BJP affiliated Sarpanch, Sajad Ahmad Khanday, was shot by suspected militants outside his residence at Vessuin south Kashmir’s Qazigund on Thursday morning. He later succumbed at a hospital. 



According to sources, the militants opened fire at Sajad Ahmad Khanday from a close range. The 45-year-old was immediately rushed to hospital where he was declared dead.



He was BJP's district vice president for Kulgam.





This is the second militant attack on a Sarpanch within 48 hours in Qazigund as a BJP sarpanch Arif Ahmad was critically wounded after militants fired upon him at Akhran Qazigund on the evening of August 4.



On the other hand this is the fourth such attack on a BJP leader in the recent weeks. 



Last month, BJP's Sheikh Waseem Bari, his father and brother were killed by terrorists in the union territory's Bandipore district. He was the district chief for Bandipore.
