June 26, 2020: India witnessed a spike of 17,296 new COVID-19 positive cases on Friday.





According to Union Health Ministry data, India's tally has risen to 4,91,170, while the death toll climbed to 15,308 with 407 new fatalities. The number of active cases stands at 1,89,463 while 2,85,671 patients have recovered and one patient has migrated.



 An official said that around 58.24 percent patients have recovered so far.





As per reports, a central team from Union Health Ministry will visit Maharashtra, Gujarat and Telangana from June 26 to June 29 and interact with state officials to coordinate with them to strengthen ongoing efforts for management of the pandemic.
