May 31, 2020: India reported the biggest single-day jump in the number of new coronavirus patients and deaths linked to the highly infectious illness, taking the total 182,143 cases and 5,164 deaths as per the latest data by the Union Health Ministry on Sunday morning.



In the last 24 hours, 8,380 new patients were registered and 193 patients died.



It may be stated that out of the total cases, 86984 have been successfully treated and 89995 have been active cases of Covid-19 in India.



Maharashtra has reported the highest number of infections with 65,168 COVID-19 positive cases, followed by Tamil Nadu with 21,184 cases, Delhi with 18,549 cases and Gujarat with 16,343 cases.



Odisha reports 129 new COVID-19 positive cases on Sunday, taking the total number of cases to 1948. The active cases stand at 889, according to state health department.
