April 7, 2020: The total number of coronavirus positive cases in India jumped to 4,421 on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.



Meanwhile, the death toll has gone up to 114 while 326 have recovered. Maharashtra leads the country with maximum number of cases; Tamil Nadu stands second while Delhi is at the third spot.



The Health Ministry's figures stood at 4,064 yesterday with the number of deaths at 109. The chunks of cases in India have been linked to the religious gathering at Nizamuddin, links to which have been traced across 17 states so far.



Globally, the number of people diagnosed with the virus now exceeds 1.3 million. More than 74,500 people have died while more than 276,515 have recovered, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
