March 19, 2020: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday postponed Class 10 and Class 12 examinations in view of the novel coronavirus.

The board decision came soon after the HRD Ministry directed all educational institutions in the country to put off all the ongoing examinations to control the spread of the deadly virus which has so far infected over 150 people in the country.

The CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi said, "All ongoing CBSE examinations in India and abroad postponed till March 31 and will be rescheduled thereafter...after an assessment of the situation".

As per reports, the board has also suspended all the ongoing evaluation work.
