Two Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were killed in an encounter in Sariguphwara area of Anathnag in South Kashmir on Monday.



Security forces launched a cordon and search operation early Monday morning following information about the presence of terrorists there, a police official said.



He said the search operation turned into an encounter around 6.40 am when the hiding terrorists opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated.

In the ensuing gunfight, two terrorists were killed and incriminating material, including arms and ammunition, were recovered from the site of the encounter, the official said.



Three more terrorists were killed in an encounter that broke out in Gulshan Abad Reban area of Sopore in Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.



Police said three Lashker terrorists were killed in an encounter. Security agencies said Usman, a Lashkar operative, who was behind terror attack on the CRPF on July 2 in Sopore, was killed in the encounter.
