June 30, 2020: Tik Tok - the most popular Chinese entertaining application  has been removed from Google Play Store in India. As of now it is no more available in Play Store to download.

The app along with 58 other Chinese apps  was banned on Monday night on an order by the Ministry of Information and Technology. It may be stated that in spite of the app being  removed from the Google Play Store, it is still running properly for the moment, and it implies that if the app is installed on the phone, one can keep using  it for now, but once removed  it cannot be recovered.

According to reports, Government of India banned Tik Tok among 59 Chinese application over national security and privacy concern after the deadly Himalayan border clash between India and China. Reportedly, these apps violated the privacy of users and stored their data outside India. The government gave notice to Apple and Google to remove all 59 apps from apps store, and asked ISPs and telecom companies to help to ban such apps.
