July 26, 2020: As the UNLOCK 2.0 is nearing an end, there are speculations that more relaxations like opening of gyms and theatres may be announced by the government.

The government is learnt to have been in consultation with various stakeholders on how to lift restrictions from some sectors.

The UNLOCK 2.0 will end on July 31.

The government is seriously considering reopening of cinema halls from August 1, but with certain restrictions like maintaining social distancing.

Similarly, gyms may also be allowed to be reopened.

However, educational institutions and metro rail services are most likely to remain shut as of now.

The I&B Ministry has proposed to the MHA the reopening of cinema halls  after consultation with the theatre owners. The theatre owners have agreed to reopen with 50% seat capacity while the govt proposes 25% seating capacity.
