SC refuses to entertain PIL for CBI probe into Sushant Singh Rajput death case

July 30, 2020: The Supreme Court refused to entertain PIL seeking a CBI probe into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput on Thursday.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his apartment in Mumbai's Bandra on June 14. The 34-year-old actor died by suicide, police says.

As per reports, the PIL was filed by one Alka Priya.

While rejecting the PIL, Chief Justice of India Sharad Arvind Bobde said, "Let the police do their job."

At present, the case is being probed by Mumbai as well as Bihar Police.

Chief Justice Bobde said, “This has nothing to do with whether a person was good or bad, the police should be allowed to do their job right now”.

The court said the petitioner could approach the Bombay High Court in case she got hold of anything concrete to help the police investigation.
