August 9, 2020: Actor Sanjay Dutt was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on Saturday evening after he complained of a chest discomfort and his oxygen saturation level dipped. Dutt has been admitted to an intensive care unit and is stable, sources said.

The 61-year-old actor underwent a rapid antigen test for Covid-19 at the hospital, result for which came negative. An RT-PCR test conducted late Saturday also found him negative for the infection, reports said.

His treating doctor, Jalil Parkar, who himself recovered from Covid-19 last month, said a few more tests are being conducted to assess Dutt’s medical parameters and why his oxygen level had dipped.

The actor, who celebrated his birthday last week on July 29, later tweeted: “Just wanted to assure everyone that I’m doing well. I’m currently under medical observation & my COVID-19 report is negative. With the help & care of the doctors, nurses & staff at Lilavati hospital, I should be home in a day or two. Thank you for your well wishes & blessings.”
