December 1, 2020: The National Health Mission's Kamrup(Metro) unit observed the World AIDS Day on Tuesday with the theme of "Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibility". The day was observed with various programmes at Sonapur.

Kamrup(M) joint director of health Dr. Ganesh Saikia flagged off an AIDS awareness rally from Sonapur BPHC to Circle Office which was organised by the Kamrup Metro District Health Society in association with Sonapur Block PHC.

Later, Dr. Saikia also chaired an awareness meeting held at the meeting hall of Sonapur BPHC. The Sub-Division Medical & Health Officer of Sonapur BPHC was also present in the meeting

On National Health Mission's behalf, its State Media Expert, District Programme Manager and District Media Expert attended the programmes besides members of self-help groups, BPMU, ASHA supervisors, MPW, ANM and PRI members.
