November 26, 2020: The final journey of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi started a short while ago.
His mortal remains have been taken on a flower-decked truck for the cremation at Nabagraha.
As per his wish, his body was taken to the Rukminigaon church from his official residence in the morning where a special prayer was organised for him.
From there, it will be taken to Naamghar at AIDC, Ambari Burha Masjid, Sukreswar temple and Ugratara temple before his cremation takes place at Navagraha.
Earlier today, his body was taken to his residence in Dispur from Srimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra after 2 days where lakhs of people paid tributes to him.
At his home, all religious rituals were conducted and his footprints were collected before setting out for his final journey.
An elaborate security and traffic arrangement has been made for the cremation journey.
