Aug 4, 2020: After the government partially withdrew the lockdown restrictions in Guwahati, the shopping malls have opened from Monday.

The malls, following the government instructions,. have taken special precautions to check transmission of Covid-19.

Though the turnout at the malls is thin, they are expecting it to pick up gradually.

Consumers too are not complaining and are seen shopping while maintaining social distancing norms.

On the other hand, the police too have cracked down on the lockdown violators. At several points, police were checking the pillion riders or people carrying more passengers in cars.
