October 24, 2020: The Railway Protection Force of N. F. Railway has recovered a total of 34.55 kg cannabis from Railway premises over N. F. Railway during last five days. The RPF also apprehended two touts and rescued a minor girl and apprehended three suspected kidnappers from Guwahati Railway Station.

A team of RPF/Alipurduar on October 19 , conducted a surprise checking at New Coochbehar Railway Station and found a woman trying to board 02346 Guwahati-Sealdah Special carrying a big bag. On checking her bag, 14.05 kg cannabis were recovered.

One railway ticket, Rs. 13,460 in cash and one mobile phone were also recovered from her possession. In another incident, a team of RPF conducted a search operation at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station on 02346 Guwahati-Sealdah Special and recovered two unclaimed bags containing 20.5 kg cannabis on October21.

A team of RPF apprehended one person for illegally procuring and selling railway E-Tickets from a travel agency near Digboi station and seized 11 Railway tickets worth Rs. 43,231, one computer set, one printer and other accessories from his possession on October 21.

Again, a team of RPF conducted surveillance at the computerized reservation centre at Guwahati Railway Station on October22 and apprehended one person for running illegal business of procuring and supplying railway tickets. The RPF team recovered two railway tickets, one xerox copy of railway ticket from his possession and found transactions for another two tickets in his mobile phone. Value of the recovered railway tickets is Rs.5640.
