Person injured in wild boar attack succumbs

Aug 10, 2020: One of the victims of Saturday's wild boar attack at Ambari has succumbed to his injuries. The victim, Makles Ali, passed away while undergoing treatment at the GMCH on Sunday night. According to his family, Ali, who sustained serious injury in the attack had breathed his last at around 10 PM Sunday night.

Ali sustained grievous injury when a wild boar strayed into Ambari area on Saturday morning. He was an employee of the state archaeological department and he was attacked by the panicked wild boar while he was working at the campus. His injury required over 80 stitches.

Besides him, 4 others including staff of Assam Textile Institute and Guwahati Press Club were also attacked by the wild boar. After attacking the persons, the panicked wild boar entered a colony behind the Press Club where it was killed by the local people.
