New traffic rules for Durga Puja

October 20, 2020: Several busy roads in Guwahati will be marked as one-way during the five days of Durga Puja. The Guwahati Traffic Police has issued a new directive for the puja.

The Rajendra Prasad Road will be one-way and no traffic from Ganeshguri side to Ganesh Mandir will not be allowed. The vehicles coming from Secretariat side will be diverted through the Wholesale Market bye-lane.

The Beltola-Jayanagar road has also been declared one-way. AT Road has been declared as "No Parking Zone". On the other hand, parking arrangement for puja revellers has been made at Jayanagar, Khanapara.

The ASTC buses coming to Machkhowa have been diverted to ISBT.

Entry of heavy vehicles in the city during day time has been restricted.
