September 14, 2020: Assam minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma undermined the challenge from the new political parties in the coming assembly election.

"They will get maximum 700-1500 votes per constituency. Don't accuse me of doing magic if my prediction proves true later," said Dr. Sharma while reacting to the launching of Asom Jatiya Parishad by AASU and the AJYCP. He also took dig at KMSS and said that it has nothing to do with farmers.

State unite president of Bharatiya Janata Party Ranjit Kumar Dass welcomed the Asom Jatiya Parishad but claimed that his party would come to power for a second term.
